#GivingTuesday and LIVESTRONG at the YMCA

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, is an evidence-based, small-group program, available at no charge to cancer survivors and their families, helping them recover emotional and physical strength through peer support and exercise.

Join the MetroWest YMCA in our #GivingTuesday Campaign, sponsored by our friends at Avidia Bank, and make a donation for LIVESTRONG at the YMCA. Donations made between now and November 28 will be matched, doubling your impact.

  • $25 will sponsor one week for a survivor and their family
  • $50 will sponsor two weeks for a survivor and their family
  • $300 will sponsor a 12-week class for a survivor and their family

"It had been years even before I was diagnosed and treated for my cancer that I had exercised, and I was certainly not so ready to exercise once I had completed my treatment and had taken some well-earned time for RNR (aka: rest and relaxation).  But after I learned of your Livestrong Program, I made the commitment to join, not only for the exercise itself, but for the unique opportunity to do so amongst fellow survivors.Without awareness and access to the Livestrong Program I know I would not have made any effort in getting into any exercise program, but now having done so, and feeling so much better for it – both physically and mentally – I have now officially joined the YMCA and have set regular visits to the gym as a weekly priority for myself." ~Bill, a former LIVESTRONG at the YMCA participant.
