Are you up to the challenge?

At the MetroWest YMCA, we understand that building self-confidence and developing leadership skills is accomplished by fostering cooperation among members of a team. Challenge courses are one of the most effective ways of illustrating and attaining these values. Our challenge course is one of the largest in the area and has served a wide variety of audiences with great results. Our participants are given both educational and recreational opportunities focusing on:

  • Team Building
  • Effective Communication
  • Self Esteem
  • Creative Problem Solving
  • Trust
  • Motivation
  • Positive Risk Taking
  • Leadership Skills
  • Conflict Resolution

The course is open to any kind of group, team, or business starting as young as the second grade. All group members will be challenged both physically and mentally, but no one is ever forced to participate in an activity that would be harmful to the individual’s physical or emotional well being. Safety is a priority. The course is inspected annually and meets the most stringent safety standards. All programs are instructed by highly trained and certified staff who carefully instruct, guide and support every participant. We aim to give everyone an enjoyable, rewarding, and memorable experience.

The MetroWest YMCA Family Outdoor Center's Challenge Course is designed to provide a challenging set of obstacles in an environment filled with safety, support, and cooperation. All individuals will gain the resources necessary for conquering the challenges that life has in store. The low and high ropes courses as well as group initiatives are designed to be fun, challenging, and rewarding while offering participants the opportunity for personal growth. All challenge course activities will be tailored to the specific needs of the group or individual(s) who are participating and will remain inclusive of all audiences regardless of gender, race, and physical mobility.

Whether you choose the low ropes course and team building, or the high ropes course, your eyes will be opened to the new skills or values that are developed during the program. You’ll acquire values such as confidence, trust, respect, teamwork, communication, leadership, support, decision making, conflict resolution, positive risk taking, etc. All of these values are meant to be taken away from the course and are just as important in business, school or at home.

We welcome the opportunity to serve your group, be it religious, private, or non-profit. Share the beauty of our quiet outdoor facility while you participate in an exciting and challenging day on one of the areas largest high and low ropes challenge courses. We are located just 30 miles west of downtown Boston, and within minutes of Interstate 495 and the Mass Pike.
