Jul 14, 2022

UPDATE 10:25 AM, July 15: This event has reached capacity! If you would like to be put on a waitlist and notified when we offer another training, you can fill out the form linked below. Otherwise, we invite you to check out our ongoing aquatics programming.

The MetroWest YMCA's Framingham Swim Team will host a free water safety event at the Clearbrook Swim Club on Saturday, July 16. The event's purpose will be to teach children (ages 5-14) some basic skills to help them be safe around the water this summer.

Drowning is the second leading cause of death for children ages 5 to 14, with children from communities of color at the greatest risk. But drowning is also preventable. With Summer upon us, now is an excellent time for parents to remember the importance of equipping children with essential water safety skills.

Saturday's event will begin with check-in at 9:00 AM. Y aquatics professionals will then teach a 45-minute swim lesson that covers the basics of water safety, followed by an open swim from 10:15 to noon. There will be a raffle, snacks, and goody bags.

This event will be held at the Clearbrook Swim Club at 120 Parker Road, Framingham. The event is for children ages 5-14, and all children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required. Space is limited.
