Y Night is Back!

Y Night is a drop-in program for youth in grades 5-8.  Y Night is offered and no charge, and runs on most Saturdays during the school year, 7:15 -9:45 pm.

The MetroWest YMCA closes at 7 pm for our general membership and reopens at 7:15 pm for our Y Night youth only! Youth are choose from a variety of activities that may include basketball and other gymnasium-based games, ping-pong, air hockey and swimming. Participants may also have access to the Youth and Family and turf areas of our Wellness Center. Or, they can just hang out with their friends while meeting new friends. Our Y Night staff and volunteers act as positive role models as they facilitate, supervise and engage in these activities with our teens. Y Night starts with a “group huddle” that lasts about 10-15 minutes. The “huddle” is an opportunity to welcome youth who are new to the program, review the schedule of activities for the evening, discuss our core values, and may address any concerns or questions the teens or staff may have.

Additionally, we provide a healthy 5-component meal.

Youth who would like to attend Y Night complete an information sheet, waiver and pledge with their parent or guardian on the first night that they participate.  After that, they may sign themselves into Y night, no later than 8 pm. Youth must be signed out by their parent, guardian, or other authorized adult as listed on their information sheet, no later than 9:45 pm.
