Your Membership Makes a Difference

Dear YMCA Member,

On behalf of our Association, we would like to take a moment to express our gratitude to you for choosing to be a part of our YMCA family. We are thinking about you, hope you are doing okay, and we look forward to being back together again.

As we continue to monitor the crisis, we are responding to the Governor’s guidelines and suggestions. Currently, he has extended closing facilities like ours until May 18. While this is hard, it is the right thing to do.

We care about you and your health and wellness. Therefore, we are working to balance individual and community needs, just like we have for the past 60 years our Y has been in operation.

With your support, our Y has been working to meet the needs of the community during this crisis. Providing emergency child care, distributing food and meals, and items including diapers, toiletries, over the counter medicine to families in need, and helping to address social isolation for those most vulnerable, are some of the ways we are stepping up to help during this difficult time. Your Y will continue to be there for the community and we are asking you to consider sticking with us during this crisis.

We are also working to provide virtual resources to you during this challenging time. From online wellness classes and programs, to read-aloud stories for children and virtual meetings for classes, we are striving to continue to keep you connected, healthy and strong.  To learn more go to or follow us on FaceBook.

During this time, if you maintain your membership, your membership dollars will be considered a charitable donation to the efforts we outlined above and allow us the resources to meet whatever needs arise in our community in the weeks ahead.

We respectfully ask that you consider keeping your membership active during this time so that we can remain fully focused on our efforts to help our community stay strong in spirit, mind and body. Should you choose to keep your membership active, please know how deeply grateful we are for your thoughtful generosity. You do not have to take any action to make this gift. When the Y reopens, you will receive a tax letter indicating the amount you donated.

We also understand that your situation may have changed, and you may not be in a position to maintain your membership. If this is the case, please contact member services at or call 508-879-4420 to speak to someone directly and we will answer any questions you may have and place your membership on hold at no cost during this time. Once your membership is on hold, we will extend your hold without charge until further notice. As soon as our Ys reopen, you will be notified, and your membership will automatically resume.

Your next membership draft will take place in April on your regular draft date, and if you choose to continue paying your membership, this is the date that your account will be charged. If you choose to put your membership on hold we will do our best to process the change prior to the next draft payment.

In uncertain times like these, we must be there for one another. The effects will be far reaching and, in response, we all need to think sensibly and empathetically. By following the latest trusted science and leading with our hearts, we will get through this together.
