Lifeguard Course



Must be 15 years old by the last day of the course. To successfully complete the lifeguarding certification course, participants must attend and participate in all sessions, demonstrate competency in all sessions, demonstrate competency in all required skills, activities, and final rescue skill scenarios in addition to passing both exams with a minimum grade of 80%. Participants should be able to complete a prerequisite swim: 300 yard continuous swim, 2 minutes of treading water using ONLY legs, and completion of a timed event within 1 minute and 40 seconds.

The lifeguard recertification course is for individuals that possess current lifeguarding certifications that need to be recertified before their certifications expire. Participants DO NOT need to pass a prerequisite swim to register for this course. Must bring a copy of their current
certification to class.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Review Course (@ Framingham) *New

This in-person instructor/instructor trainer review course is the required course for all lifeguarding instructors and instructor trainers to re-certify. During this course, lifeguarding instructors and instructor trainers will participate in an in-water practice and polish skills session with their peers and a classroom-based review of Red Cross administrative policies and procedures. Lifeguarding instructors and ITs may also choose to attend a brief “test out” session following this course to gain a basic-level lifeguarding certification. Cost: $175

ASHI Basic First Aid for the Community and Workplace (@ Framingham)
In this nationally recognized program, participants will develop basic first aid knowledge and skill and the confidence to respond. They learn signs, symptoms, and treatment of emergencies such as severe bleeding, shock, burns, allergic reactions, poisoning and more. Cost: $5

Theprogram is for the individual who wants or are required to have CPR and AED knowledge and skills: including emergency response teams in the workplace, school bus drivers, adult residential care personnel, child care worker, teachers, parents, and baby-sitters. Cost: $65

CPR/AED American Heart Association for the Professional Rescuer (@ Framingham)

The BLS Instructor-led course teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both pre-hospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on High-Quality CPR and team dynamics. Cost: $75
