Project ABC playgroups will:

  • Provide a safe, developmentally appropriate, and stimulating environment for your child to play and learn.
  • Engage children to participate in activities that develop social, language, S.T.E.A.M., and early literacy skills.
  • Encourage positive parent-child interactions through play.
  • Practice routines and transitions to help your little one get ready for school.
  • Provide parents/caregivers with an ASQ (Ages & Stages Questionnaire) to learn more about your child’s development.
  • Provide outside resources for parents and families in a confidential, non-judgmental environment.

Parents/caregivers will:

  • Provide supervision for their child while engaging in hands-on learning and relationship building.
  • Parents/caregivers are an essential component of the playgroup, and are asked to supervise their children at all times during the group. Adult-child interaction during the playgroup is vital to the learning process and is strongly encouraged! Come explore and learn to play with your little one to stimulate their growth and development.
  • Have the opportunity to share their experiences, ideas, questions, and resources with each other, and maybe make a new friend!
  • Learn about their child’s development and understand developmental milestones and how to support them.
  • As your child plays & explores, adults should facilitate turn taking, positive social behavior, and model ways to work through difficult peer interactions.
  • Feel free to ask the playgroup facilitator for help when needed – we understand that all children develop skills at different rates, and we’re here to help you help your child grow and learn!
