Y's Early Learners @ Home | Metrowest YMCA | MetroWest YMCA

Launching May 18th

Who: Our preschool and pre-k friends. Classes will be separated by age to ensure the material is developmentally appropriate and you will have options for what time slot and weekday work best for you and your child.

What: Multi-week virtual interactive programming designed to engage young children with minimal family involvement. In our virtual classes, we will be singing, dancing, playing, reading, and learning together. The curriculum will be based on weekly themes and feature a group meeting with a theme book, music and movement song or game, as well as an engaging enrichment activity. All classes will include social-emotional learning while our pre-k classes will also include tips and strategies for getting ready for kindergarten. Classes will be limited in size to make sure that every child can fully participate.

For those interested, we are also planning on gathering up the supplies needed for the program for families to pick up at the Y for a small fee.

All Classes will be taught by EEC certified teachers and staff from our Early Learning Center.

When: The program launches 5/18/2020. It's a 6 Week session with options to attend two, three, or five days a week. Children register for a one-hour online class that meets two, three, or five days a week.

Use the following class IDs to register:

5 days a week M-F @ 9:30 am-10:30am: 11961
3 days a week M,W,F @ 3:30pm-4:30pm: 11962
2 days a week T,Th @ 3:30pm-4:30pm: 11963

Location: online/virtual classroom

Goal: To engage youth in early learning online and combat learning loss while many students are out of the classroom during this time.

How to Get Started: Children register for a one-hour online class that meets two, three, or five days a week. After you register, we will send out an email with all sorts of useful information on how to use the online platform and log into meetings. We will also send out information about the weekly theme, supplies needed, and bonus videos. The first session of the program will include an orientation to help your child (and you) learn how to use the software.
