When school is out, the YMCA offers special programming to keep your children (grades K-5) engaged, active, and healthy. We have four options for February Vacation.

FRAMINGHAM VACATION DAYS PROGRAM

When school's out, kids in kindergarten through 5th grade can come to the Framingham Branch for sports, games, indoor gaga ball, arts & crafts, and swimming. A healthy lunch and snack will be provided.

FITNESS/NUTRITION HALF-DAY PROGRAM

Participants will receive 2-3 fitness based education and 1-2 nutrition based education. The fitness education will be a mix of classroom based education as well as workout in the wellness center. For example, participants will learn about gym rules and etiquette, how to use cardio equipment, how to bench press, squat, and deadlift, and how to create a workout. The other portion of the program will be 1-2 nutrition based education, which will also be a blend between classroom based and in the kitchen education. Examples of nutrition education would include difference between carbohydrate, fat, and protein, making energy balls, how to fuel before a workout, and homemade trail mix. Lunch is provided. Sign up for 1, 2, 3, or all 4 days.

HOPKINTON OUTDOOR CENTER

ADVENTURE VACATION DAYS PROGRAM

This outdoor-based vacation program includes games, crafts, sports, archery, rock climbing, and more. Limited space is available. Register online, stop by, or call either branch today! Please note: We plan to spend a good part of the program outdoors, hiking & exploring trails across the 122-acre property, checking out the orienteering courses, and trying a few low ropes elements. Indoors, we will run games, utilize the indoor rock wall and archery range, and arts & crafts projects. Please supply your child with lunch, a water bottle, and two snacks.

KIDS IN THE KITCHEN HALF-DAY PROGRAM

Looking for a hands-on program for your child to engage in while school is out? Kids in the Kitchen will teach chil­dren basic cooking skills while also learning how to cook healthy, delicious recipes! Each day we will make multiple recipes and enjoy them together or kids can bring in Tupperware to bring home and share! This is a half day program at the Hopkinton Outdoor Center Kitchen. Sign up for one or all of our classes!

Tuesday, February 20: Greece - Spanokopita, homemade pita chips and hummus, and falafel with tzatziki sauce
Wednesday, Februray 21: Mexico - Corn and black bean empanadas and churros
Thursday, February 22: France - Cheese twist and broccoli and cheddar quiche
Friday, February 23: Italy - Garlic knots and homemade gnocchi

TEEN ADVENTURE PROGRAM

Teens looking to get out of the house and have some fun will enjoy this adventure program. Trips will include hiking Mt. Wachusett with lunch at the summit, bouldering at Framingham Central Rock gym, trail hiking + outdoor rock climbing at College Rock Park, Boda Borg Boston + lunch at Devir Park (baseketball & baseball fields, soccer & tennis courts available). Round-trip transportation will be provided. Please supply your teen with lunch, a water, bottle, and two snacks. Limited space is available.
