New Board Leadership
September 30, 2025

The MetroWest YMCA has appointed three new members to its Board of Directors, confirmed at the Annual Meeting in May. The Y also announced Regina Marshall, Chief Operating Officer at Advocates, as Board Chair, with Visi Tilak elected Vice Chair. Outgoing members Jim Stucchi, Tom Caron, and Patricia Duarte were recognized for their dedicated service.

Celebrating Contributions

Stucchi, President/Designer, Stucchi Landscape & Design, has served on the Board since 2016. He played a key role in the 2019 renovation of the Framingham Branch and helped shape the vision for the forthcoming Team Hoyt Community YMCA.

Caron, beloved sports commentator on New England’s NSEN, joined the Board in 2022. He will continue in his role as Co-Chair of the MetroWest YMCA’s Capital Campaign Leadership Cabinet, which unites community leaders from Ashland, Holliston, Hopkinton, Framingham, and Sherborn to raise funds for a new regional YMCA facility.

Duarte, Founder and Principal Consultant of Decision Insight, Inc., was elected Board Chair in 2023, following a decade of service on the Board. Under her leadership, the MetroWest YMCA expanded access for families across the region, developed a four-year strategic plan, and launched the Where Community Happens capital campaign to construct the Team Hoyt Community YMCA in Ashland. Duarte will continue serving in the role of Past Board Chair.

“My heartfelt gratitude goes to Patrica, Jim, and Tom for their vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment to strengthening our communities through the mission of the Y,” said Rick MacPherson, President and CEO of the MetroWest YMCA.

Welcoming New Board Chair, Vice Chair, and Board Members

The MetroWest YMCA also announced the election of Regina Marshall, Chief Operating Officer at Advocates, as Board Chair. Marshall brings decades of leadership experience in nonprofit organizations and state government at both executive and operational levels.

A Framingham resident, Marshall holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and African American Studies from Simmons College and a law degree from Northeastern University. She is the proud mother of three—twin daughters and a son—all of whom have attended summer camp and classes at the MetroWest YMCA.

“The YMCA holds a special place in my heart,” said Marshall. “Attending YMCA programs as a child gave me the confidence to approach challenges and to lead. As Board Chair, I hope to inspire more people to see the Y as a place where they belong, where possibilities are nurtured, and where our community comes together to create a brighter future for all.”

Joining Marshall as Vice Chair is Visi Tilak, an Ashland-based writer, journalist, author, and artist. Tilak also serves as Co-Chair of the MetroWest YMCA’s Leadership Cabinet and is working with the YMCA State Alliance and International offices to explore opportunities for global partnerships, including with a YMCA in India.
