Volunteer Opportunities
To get started, read the opportunities below and contact the person responsible.
At the MetroWest YMCA, we're dedicated to strengthening our community by addressing food insecurity. We have several volunteer opportunities available with our food program. Join us to help ensure no child or adult in our community goes hungry.
- Food Preparation and Distribution Teammate: Support our food service team in preparing and distributing nutritious, healthy meals and groceries to youth and adults in our community.
- Nourishing Nook: We’re looking for helping hands at our Nourishing Nook, a free-choice market that provides food assistance to our Y community. Volunteering here is a meaningful way to support neighbors while making a real difference. Shifts are available on Mondays and Fridays:
- 3:45–4:45 PM – Help prepare the Nook before it opens
- 3:45–6:45 PM – Assist with setup and distribution
- 4:45–6:45 PM – Support with distribution only
The location for both roles is the Framingham Branch, 280 Old Connecticut Path, Framingham, MA 01748. To learn more, contact Joanna: joannajones@metrowestymca.org

Volunteer in the Y's Garden!
If you love gardening or want to learn more, volunteer with us at the Hopkinton Outdoor Center! We have 26 raised garden beds and are looking for people who love the outdoors and want to improve their composting, pruning, planting, weeding, and harvesting skills. We aim to grow fresh produce on-site that can be used in the Y's programs while teaching the kids about new fruits and vegetables and the time, effort, and dedication it takes to grow them. If you're interested in sustainable agriculture, closed-loop food systems, or fighting food insecurity, we would love to partner with you!
