The MetroWest YMCA is excited to announce upcoming registration dates for its popular Schools’ Out program—an enriching out-of-school-time experience designed to support working families and help children thrive.

Registration opens Monday, February 23, at 8:00 AM for current families. New families and participants may register beginning Monday, March 9, at 8:00 AM.

The Schools’ Out program - operating in Ashland, Framingham, Hopkinton, Natick, and Wayland - aligns with each child’s school curriculum, reinforcing academic success and strengthening social-emotional learning. Each day balances structured enrichment with active play, giving children opportunities to build self-reliance, develop trusting relationships, and cultivate skills like problem-solving and executive functioning.

Children enjoy autonomy in choosing activities tailored to their interests, including STEM and ELA, arts education, physical fitness and nutrition, outdoor education and nature conservancy, global learning, homework support, and 21st-century skill development.

Led by experienced staff, the program offers engaging, hands-on learning every day in a safe environment where everyone belongs. Staff model the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility—helping children grow not only academically, but personally.

Through Schools’ Out, children are encouraged to try new things, gain independence, improve academic performance and social skills, and build confidence and self-efficacy. For parents, it’s peace of mind. For kids, it’s a place to explore, connect, and succeed.

Families are encouraged to mark their calendars and secure their spot early.
